Webinar & Guide: Preparing Live Arts Venues for ICE Enforcement
Last August, Tamizdat produced the webinar “Planning for Safety and Compliance: Live Venues and New Immigration Realities” in partnership with the Association for Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) and the National Independent Venue Assocation (NIVA). An accompanying guide was also published which can be found here. The webinar addresses how live performance venues across the country were navigating operational and legal challenges precipitated by federal immigration priorities.
In 2026, we need this information more than ever. Understanding the law—and having a clear preparedness plan—is essential to protecting staff, artists, audiences, and institutions.
Many thanks to webinar moderator Matthew Covey (Tamizdat/CoveyLaw) and panelists, Bruce Buchanan, Esq. (Littler Mendelson), Julie Groob (City Center, NYC), Sarah Rosen (The Pubic Theater, NYC), and Rex Chen, Esq. (Latino Justice)
